Calling The Shots
Setting a new trend - SEEN Beach Club Samui.
If you think you’ve seen everything, then it’s time to head for SEEN, Samui’s newest beach club. It’s an exciting addition to the island, and exceeds what makes a great beach club. Get ready for a serious dose of fun right on Samui’s favourite beach, Chaweng. SEEN is definitely the place to party; the frontline beach location means it has amazing sea views along with the soft white sand that Chaweng is so well known for. Just being here will put you in a good mood, and a totally laid-back one at that. Enjoy the vibe at the beautiful pool, or step onto the sands. And, when the night begins, dance to your heart’s content under the stars. Eat, play and enjoy yourself at the multi-sensory space that SEEN has created for you.
This month there are some big names headed to Samui and to SEEN. Everything kicks off on Sunday 2nd February, when UK house music megastar Danny Rampling and his wife DJ Ilona will get you partying from sunset onwards. Later in the month, on Saturday 29th February, Ibiza’s most iconic brand, the legendary Cafe Mambo is making a stop at SEEN for an exclusive high energy party, featuring DJ Erik Hagleton with support from DJ Dave Davoted. And on March 13th, SEEN welcomes legendary German DJ, Mousse T. With names like these, you can be assured of great times, and acts of this calibre will be featured regularly throughout the year.
The venue is designed to be as chilled as possible. SEEN boasts a chic restaurant with plenty of seating, both inside and outside on the terrace. You’ll find not one but three bars and then there are private cabanas for you and your friends, a DJ booth and two turquoise pools, both with plenty of large cushioned daybeds, ideal for hours of lingering and sunbathing. That’s not all. Chill out at the sunken swim-up bar of the central pool, where you can partake of glasses of Moët while you indulge in exquisite foods such as Dragon Maki or Salmon Ebiko Rolls. You might however simply want to gaze out to sea at the beachside infinity pool overlooking the surf. Just make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the amenities at SEEN.
When it comes to dining, the food is definitely inspired, and it’d be hard to come by better fare. The all-encompassing menu with influences from the Mediterranean, Asia and America has been created by Chef Joy Imprasittichai, who is no less than the former head chef of The Bistro by Wolfgang Puck in Sydney. As such, she knows exactly how to tempt your taste buds. Her standouts include the Tako Carpaccio - thinly sliced octopus topped with celery, red radishes, pink peppers, micro herbs, wasabi gel and ginger with infused ponzu dressing – and the fresh Tuna Poke - served on a bed of spinach, red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, pickled daikon and wakame topped with sesame dressing from the Seafood Bar. There’s naturally plenty more on offer and all of it is exceptionally good. Outdoors, meanwhile, check out the silver Citroen HY Serial Griller food truck – this is the place to come to enjoy an enticing and moreish range of burgers, including SEEN’s spicy garlic and basil chicken and prawn slider served with a fried quail egg.
In the mood for cocktails? SEEN specializes in an array that is no less than magical. Try the exquisite Kiss On The Lips – it’s Singleton of Dufftown 12-year old whisky mixed with raspberry lager syrup and citrus and soda. Or how about The Sky Is Blue? – an inspired Tanqueray London dry gin cocktail mixed with blue curacao, crème de cacao, white wine syrup and exotic rambutan. An enormous amount of love and creativity has gone into drinks like these, and they’re ideal for sipping during the unending summery weather that Samui delights in.
Get your beach groove on every day of the week with top-notch DJ’s on deck duty spinning out the ultimate feel-good tunes with two generously long sets daily (noon – 5:00 pm & 5:00 pm – late). And then on Saturday enjoy the Sin@SEEN pool parties, a vibrant mix of non-stop music along with champagne, cocktails and long drinks a-plenty.
You’ll love the Sunday Bikini Brunch, a decadent all-day pool party which features DJ’s, professional dancers and drummers as a backdrop to the amazing food and drink – be prepared to graze for hours on shared platters and generous libations, whether it’s bubbles, Bloody Mary’s, artisan cocktails or infused gin & tonics. The food is extremely varied and features a lavish sushi station, a well-stocked salad bar, then a carvery, a seafood barbeque and more. Come back as many times as you want before finishing up with the extremely decadent desserts.
The sheer look of SEEN is amazing in itself. This is a bold and eye-catching statement. Mid-century architecture uses lots of high contrast geometric patterns and curves and the ensemble channels the finest epoch of Miami and California’s beach club culture – think retro-1950’s chic, along with tropical design. It’s a vibrant place to be with the bright colour palette creating a carefree, cosmopolitan beach scene. An indoor neon pink Metro Harvester van acts as a bar and inspired, programmable LED lighting provides a variety of colour effects amping up night time moods.
SEEN has to be experienced and provides a total sensory overload that ensures a stand-out beach experience, just ideal for a tropical island. Open daily from 10:00 am until midnight, come and see SEEN for yourself. This is exactly where you want to be.
